I Want Tita Ruby's BBQ..

>> Tuesday, December 7, 2010

I am craving for Tita Ruby's barbecue.. The one we had at the East Coast when we celebrated Deepavali cum Aguilar Reunion-SG leg. I wanted to share with you an exact photo of the said barbecue, but I could not find it anymore. I just remembered, I switched memory cards with my sister who is now in Cagayan de Oro City to renew her passport and attend to some important stuff back home.
Anyway, as I recall, the East Coast is a very nice park by the seashore. There were no grand outdoor lighting, instead, there were dimly lit posts on the road. It is a good place to hang out with friends, fish, swim, go biking, skating or even skateboarding. And I promise you, if you do all those activities, you better have some food with you since you will surely go hungry afterwards..

Tita Ruby is now in Passi, Ilo-ilo. Tito Nonon and her, will be opening an Internet Cafe there. But since the building is yet to be constructed, they will, for the meantime, join the Food Festival.  Well, Tita Ruby is an excellent cook. I am sure their food will be a hit..

Would You Eat These???

>> Monday, December 6, 2010

This is one of the photos I took from Tito Noel's collection of photos to be added in the website photo stream. This was during his trip in China. OMG! Look at the food skewered there. Do you see scorpions? Do you see beetles? OMG! They are for real lah!
I just couldn't imagine eating them. Anyway, my friend Stacy, who is looking to buy soma online, saw the said photos and ultimately forgot her task to buy soma. That must be the effect of seeing something really unexpected or unimaginable. She only remembered that she will buy soma, when her boss called and reminded her to do so.. What a photo..

Follow lah..

"Suffering from mild or severe pain? Then take tramadol", that is what I heard a lady say on teh train. But the other woman said that tramadol does not work well with her, and added that tramadol is not found at the Chinese Clinic she goes to. Well, what can you do when the person you are advising does not want to follow your advice? I think it was really funny how the other woman was almost imposing, and to the point, almost begging the woman to do so.

Well, it isn't a contest really.. We just have to respect other people's decisions, right? Anyway, have a fruit lah...
Have some delicious Plums lah..

Malaysian Crabs

http://www.vjeranpas.com/?cat=4

In Singapore, there is this restaurant that sells Sri Lankan Crabs that are said to be spicy and sweet, for $15 a piece. It was quite a treat for some, for others, it is quite expensive already, considering that it is just small. That is why some people may need fast payday loans to be ableto treat a party or so for a crab lunch or dinner. Of course, others use their pay day loan for other uses. Some love it when they are able to get No credit check payday loan. Well, who wouldn't, it's hassle free and fast.

In my uncle's house, we are able to enjoy delicious foods, buying them fresh from the market, and cooking them at home So the photo above are Malaysian Crabs which was prepared by his househelp in teh classic fashion. It was so yummy..

RED Dragon Fruit

>> Sunday, December 5, 2010

You will know when the Dragon Fruit you are buying is RED or WHITE. See, the Red Dragon fruit is round, while the white one is quite an oblong in shape..
Plus, it is soft and of course, when opened, the juicy meat shows the color red.. hehehe
That is how it looks after being peeled. And when sliced in halves...
Of course, you would like to serve it without breaking its delicate meat..
There.. That was how I sliced our fruit dessert.. Very sweet--- oh so yummy.. But of course, the White Dragon Fruit is good too. And the price? Well, The Red Dragon Fruit is more expensive than the White Dragon Fruit.. But it's all worth it, promise!

I want..

>> Saturday, December 4, 2010

I miss this Japanese BBQ at Tor-Q.. It's cheap, at a dollar a stick. But the taste is really great.  Of course, one dollar if spent in the Philippines is already thirty three pesos, so I guess it is quite expensive for a stick, lol.. But then, if you keep converting, you will go hungry lah! Hehehe
If payday loans online were Christmas giveaways, I am sure they are selling like hotcakes or like the BBQ above. It's a season to be happy, and people need more money these days, so they enroll into payday loans online. As a matter of fact, many loaning companies have applications almost everywhere. I think most companies too, allow their employees to take on payday loans online through their company websites. Those big companies I mean. For as long as someone is able to process, then loans are approved.

Christmas..

Christmas is almost here. For most of us, it's the gifts and the Christmas dinner that we will be planning. But for some, the dream of owning an ariens snowblower. Of course, who would want to be stranded in the pile of snow? So if you have parties here and there, it would be a great idea to invest in a good snow blower. Of course, we here in Singapore and there in the Philippines, it is not a necessity at all. Some even wish there would be snow in the first place, lol.. Kidding aside, I am sure this Christmas is gonna be fun.

What do you have in store for the holidays? Just bought myself a ticket to go home in time for the New Year.. I am looking forward to such trip---

Drink Moderately

>> Tuesday, November 30, 2010

A lot of people take their health for granted. But I know of so many friends who invest in colon cleanse that actually works. Well, beer and alcohol drinkers should know that what they put in their mouths will have an adverse effect on their bodies later on. I should know because I have met so many people who have died with complications in their liver and kidney. Some even spending their hard earned money just to get well. But have proven otherwise to be very futile.

Drink moderately is always a cautionary phrase. Somehow, it is meant to be a cautious effort for all drinkers, but then again, only a few learned from their lessons, no matter how difficult the trials they have succumbed to. Others died early, hence, no more lessons to learn.

Mushrooms are said to be natural enhancements for males. That is why they are part of the ingredients when you buy natural male enhancement pills. But of course, the Chinese believe that eating some specific herbs and spices can also do wonders. In the Philippines, men eat aphrodisiacs, and some ginseng drinks.

Well, some women say that it can help in the department of pleasure, but some think, they simply take what they were blessed with.

Online Marketing

I have been updating the facebook page as well as the site for CMIS and so I do a click here, and a click there, and a click everywhere. My butt hurts and my fingers do too. But clicking is fun. Clicks mean so much as adding more fans to the site, more readers to the posts and perhaps more revenue later on.

Online marketing is tiring. Yet, I am sure it reaps better rewards than going out. See, many people are mostly online these days. What you see online  is what you offline. That's just that. Besides, even if it is raining outside, I can still do marketing online. Saves time actually.

wow

Here in Singapore, people are into gadgets and it is so ordinary to see people using iPhones and iPads. Sometimes, I wonder if domestic helpers here do have the said gadgets too. I have seen that the taxi driver has an iPhone, as well as the security personnel. I bet, they even have  insurance for ipads as well as for iPhones. hehehe..

Well, everything here is expensive, yes. But gadgets are also every easy to come by. And if you are clumsy to leave behind your gadgets, they do not get stolen. I guess it's because people here are not hungry for things they do not have, because they have them..

Dinner and Movie Night

Tito Noel treated us last night to dinner and a movie-- Harry Potter's latest movie.. the first part of the last Book.  He bought seven tickets for the 9:55 movie at Cine Leisure, then fetched all of us at the Travel Agency, where the rest of our companions were. We headed to the Newton Food Center where we were greeted by food hawkers offering their menu:

What's amazing about food centers here in Singapore is that, they work together as one community where people go to to eat. No food stall sells the same menu, and just one stall serves the drinks. No competition really. It is up to the hawkers to convince us to buy what they sell.

Below were what we ordered for dinner:
Above is Stingray. Spicy and so yummy. It came with a really special sauce and dip.. Below is my favorite of all. Baby Squid, crispy fried,  and sauted in a special sweet and spicy sauce, served with pineapple chunks and cucumber. The combination of the three is really fantastic. I swear, it was really the yummiest ever..
We also had spicy Chicken Wings, and not in photo, shells and omelet.
It was a gastronomic feast in an open space. I love how we were able to casually enjoy our meal, as we wait for the time for the movie.
It sure was a great night, the dinner and the movie. And NO! Tito Noel didn't win in the lottery. He was just happy, and we are happy he was happy for dinner and Harry Potter made our evening worthwhile.. Thanks Tito Noel..

Christmas..

>> Tuesday, November 23, 2010

Christmas is almost here. Almost every mall or office here in Singapore have already put up their Christmas trees. I wonder if employees here also get themselves into payday advance loans in time for teh holidays. I know many of our countrymen do.

Anyway, I hope to bring in as much as I could this December so I may be able to give as much as well. I simply love wrapping presents, but if there are none to wrap, I guess I will simply give out Christmas cards. But even Christmas cards cost a fortune already.

Well,it's always the thought that counts. I am sure it will be appreciated too.

Free Entrance for Tourists

Here is the casino at Sentosa. We were told that we can actually get inside for free and try our luck at the slot machines , the poker table and even the blackjack stand. If you win, you get money, if you lose, well, it's okay, you got free entrance anyway, lol..

Seriously, this attraction has long been enjoyed by tourists who come back for more. I wanted to try our luck but then, I was hesitant too. Imagine, betting your money for nothing? But of course, the possibilities are endless, we could win. But I am not a gambler so I let go of teh said opportunity to play. Besides, I really do not know anything about casinos.

Raw.. Like it or Not, it's Fresh..

I do not necessarily like raw food, except when they are supposed to be enjoyed raw, like fruits and some vegetables. But of course, there's fish and some seafoods and meats that go into some raw food recipes. I guess they are healthier when they are grown and harvested as organic raw food, but if they are not, I am sure there are so much risk involved.

I love raw fish that goes into the native recipe, "Kinilaw". In Japan, it's fresh fish meat that goes with wasabi and some natural side dishes. Yummy.

It's A Wrap

>> Sunday, November 21, 2010

We came back to Ceylon Lane and of our first dinner after coming back, we made wraps. It was after all a tiring day, a long but fun walk to and fro Fair Price on Joo Chiat Road.  Tito Noel sent us to buy groceries and a new Rice Cooker, which we were able to get for a bargain price of $19.90, which is not so bad considering that we have never heard of the brand. But anyhow, it worked just fine.

So, going back to the wraps. We were able to buy wraps at $ 4 which had eight wraps in teh packet. We then proceeded to prepare chicken, sausages, leaks, green bell pepper, lettuce, cucumber, cheese and of course the sauce. We had a hearty meal, light but filling.

At the MRT

Would you like to buy gold bullion? I am not selling though, hehehe. It's just that I have heard a lot of people talking about it while we were on our way to Tanjong Pagar today. As a matter of fact, the woman was even threatening her boyfriend of a break up if he will not buy gold bullion. I wonder if it is really gold bullion or something else. See, here in Singapore, they have names of food or items that are named with something else that you least expect them to be.

Anyway, after Tanjung Pagar, we went to Bugis and walked towards St. Joseph Cathedral for mass, after that, we went to Raffles City and I saw a really nice looking pair of shoes at Guess. But, I will buy them when I have money already.. hahaha

Great Black Friday Sale

>> Saturday, November 20, 2010

Thanksgiving Day is almost here. I am sure many will be flocking the malls for some Black Friday deal. My friends in the US are ecstatic about this sale as they can actually buy to their heart's content. I think there are also some stores here in Singapore that may also have the same sale but they do not call it as such. In the Philippines, we also have sale at this time of month mainly because it is nearing Christmas.

But online, you too can get great deals which pertains to celebrating thanksgiving and Christmas. Oh well, I just wish I have so much to spend.

What's Cooking?

We ate at the food court of Northpoint when I noticed that a cute guy was eating his chicken the wrong way. Turned out that he is not at all acting his age, so I guess it doesn't really matter. Then when his blackberry went off with a really loud sound, we looked at him again. Then he simply smiled at all of us who looked.  When everyone's finally settled again, he shouted. "What's cooking you guys?".. We looked at him again, but we didn't say or do anything. He was smiling again. I guess the guy really loves attention..

Baby Food Spilled on the Train

>> Thursday, November 18, 2010

Here in Singapore, it is not a good idea to bring food and drinks when taking the MRT or taking the bus because it is NOT allowed. It is strictly forbidden because it will create a huge problem for the commuters. Just like what happened to the lady I sat beside with at the MRT the other day, on the way to Jurong East. She was holding the ergo baby carrier which had a milk bottle on it. Unfortunately, the milk bottle was slightly opened that it spilled the contents on the baby carrier seat as well as on the floor of the train. Good thing the train was not full of people, she was able to wipe the floor with a towel and the moment we reached Jurong, it was clean enough not to be noticed.

That is exactly the reason why drinks are not allowed, for we will never really know when a disaster like that might occur.

Pure Sugar Cane Drink and The Rose

>> Wednesday, November 17, 2010

No, this is not the output of melting Maggi bullion into a glass of water. No sir. The drink above is pure sugar cane with ice. Every time we eat this is the drink we choose because of its medicinal properties. We so love the drink because it is very refreshing. But if it's your first time to try it,  it actually will not taste good to you. I suggest that if it's your first try, get the one with Lemon or Honey so it will taste good.

There are actually many different drinks here in Singapore that are new to me. Another one is The Rose.

It is actually juice made from the extracts of the rose petals. Remember my post about the flowers in the market? Well, that is one of the flowers that they eat here.

Indian Rojak

We went to Serangoon last week and we ate at Seven Star, an Indian Restaurant. It is open air and the food is quite nice. One of the food we ordered was the Rojak above.  To make a Rojak, you simply have to choose your own ingredients from the bar.

See the different goodies below, as they are the main ingredients. When you are done choosing, the attendant will prepare them for you.. And serve them in a dish together with a spicy sweet sauce to dip them on.

Dragon Fruit, anyone?

Wanna know what these babies are on the plate above? Actually, they are from the fruits below.
They are called DRAGON FRUIT, and they are truly tasty. Below is how they are peeled.
First, you need to cut off the tip and peel all the way like a banana.
When you are done peeling, you can get the meat of the fruit and slice it up horizontally or vertically or even in cubes. You can have them eaten that way or have them juiced or add them in a fruit salad mix.

By the way, they come in two varieties, white in color and the red/pink ones. The White Dragon Fruit is cheaper than the Red Dragon Fruit, which by the way is sweeter than the white one.

Gold Coins Found

I love this kind of  gold coin.. Actually, they may look like real gold coins, but they are chocolate inside each gold wrapping. I found these babies at the Chocolate World at Sentosa. There were also my favorite Hershey's chocolates as well as Reese's and Kisses.. Oh I was so happy to find all of my favorite chocolates there.

But guess what, you can find the same at Mustafa in Little India. At very low prices. I swear, you would like to cry when you find them there too at a fraction of the price..  Anyway, we will be going to Little India this week so I decided not to buy anything from Chocolate World. Instead, we proceeded to Victoria's Secret.. The only branch in Asia..
