My Cousin's Birthday..

>> Sunday, September 16, 2012

This is a backlogged post. On my cousin's birthday, we had dinner at Chicken Inasal Bacolod Style, and these are the food we ordered, plus the drinks and desserts..

This Crispy Kangkong is my all time favorite.. But I do not like that it is only mayonnaise that they served, and not the tartar sauce that it used to..

I love the Fish Fingers...

And of course, the signature Chicken Barbecue.. pitso..

Add a glass of Green Mango Shake, and this heavenly dessert..

YUM!

First Friday Mass Preps

Friday, September 7 was the first Friday mass schedule at Fatima Chapel, where our department is the sponsor. It was the last day of our first week in school, and as new hires, we were asked to be there. So I took my lunch..
Some food from the food stall near our building. And some Siomai, my favorite.

We also prepared some offerings for the mass, as we were told that we will be given blessings. My offering was taken by a student, who took it to the altar during offertory.

 A pose after lunch.. hahaha..
The altar.. I forgot to take a photo of the table, and all others. The altar table linen looks similar with the western bedding sets in my grandma's house.

I got to sit with the choir, but I only knew one song. Hahaha.. Been a Buddhist for fourteen years now, and I haven't been a part of the choir since..

Breakfast for Dinner...

>> Saturday, September 15, 2012

It's dinnertime. But I still do not know what to cook. I am thinking of prepping some sweet ham and some omelette with tomatoes and onions..
Or maybe I should just have some crackers and some chocolate spread..
Or some cold kakanin in the refrigerator...
 Maybe some papayas..
Or cook me some pancakes with lots of margarine..
Or cook rice and have some chorizo..
When I am alone, I do not really care what to cook and what to eat. Unless I am craving so heavily for some kind of food. For now, coffee will do..

I know.. I know.. All these are mostly for breakfast.. hahaha

Manna Packs

Last month, when Manila/Luzon was hit by the flood, we sent a couple of sacks, packages and boxes of clothes, noodles, and some Manna Packs courtesy of friends and members of CDO Bloggers Inc, and of Mindaoan.Com, through the Philippine Air force.

We had to pack them and put names on them so that they will all be handed properly to the contact person in Luzon. While packing we had lots of fun laughing out our neophyte packing skills, as we listened to the calming water fountains indoor.
First thing that was done was line them up for the dogs to sniff them, before they can be allowed to enter the Air Force compound in Lumbia.
Good thing it wasn't only us who had to carry them for the line. The good soldiers helped us carry them in line.

While we were closing our sacks and boxes, I saw these packs called Manna Packs. They are actually combination of rice and soy. On the label, I read that they were packed for goodness and for the healthy benefits of those who will eat them.

Cupcakes from TLE Class

Two students dropped by our faculty room yesterday, and sold us a couple of cupcakes that they made during their TLE class. The cupcakes were still warm and fresh from the oven.
I bought two of the Malunggay Cupcakes and just one Carrot Cupcake since there wasn't anything left anymore but one. I brought them home for Lili and River and Sweet, but I ended up having them for breakfast this morning since the three are with my parents since yesterday.

The cupcakes aren't really to die for, but they are okay. A good start for students to learn the basics of making cupcakes. Maybe one day one of them will have a special recipe and even open up his or her own bakeshop. Who knows?

Chowking Sausage Chow Pao

>> Saturday, September 1, 2012

Two days ago, my friends and I went for a quick snack at Chowking, since I was not so hungry, I ordered the Chowking Chow Pao meal for only P 39.00---

The food above plus a glass of ice cold coke.

Here is how the Chao Pao looked after removing the package. It smelled good, I almost knocked off my friend's back braces, lol.

And here's how it looked from the inside. Hmmm.. Looks pretty simple, right? But I did get the feeling that I am liking the product. Will I order it again? Maybe. And perhaps another flavor too.

For a snack, considering I didn't have breakfast that day, it was quite filling. The Chinese bun was truly heavy, that it can pass as a meal replacement if one wants a lighter lunch or dinner.

A Beer Hamper: A Unique and Interesting Gift for Boys

Gift for boys!

It’s very tiring to choose a gift for boys that bring a broad smile on their face. Gifting a shirt, a watch or a wallet seems a thing of the past. Today, gift something trendy and out of the box is in trend. So, girls it’s time to not to see your wallet but to see how worthy your gift is for your boyfriend!
I remember a day when my beau didn’t like my gift that I gifted him on Valentine Day. He didn’t tell me anything about it but his body language and expression expressed me all…

Since that day I decided to gift him something very special and trendy. I made up my mind to search a gift that took not a single second to bring a broad smile on his face. After the V Day I had just 10 days left to celebrate his birthday with a unique gift. I visited various gift shops in my city but unable to find the one that was really impressive. Finally, I took help of the internet and just writing “unique gifts for males” on the search engine, I found the one I was looking for. It was a “beer hamper.”

I knew that beer was something that most boys love to drink. The gift hamper was offering around 4 beer bottles, different flavours nuts and tangy salsa packets. The exciting combo was enough to excite my beloved. I had seen just the combo at the time and made up my mind to purchase it at any cost. I dragged my curser to see the price of the gift hamper and was amazed. It was so affordable and I jumped from my seat to see the price of the hamper.

I used my credit card to pay the beer hamper bill. After 5 days, the gift was at my doorstep. That day I took a sigh of relief. The hamper was in a small cartoon box that I wrapped to make it mysterious for him.
You know, he was surprised to see the gift and gave me a big hug.
I am sharing this gift idea because it helps those women who want to gift something interesting and valuable to their husband, beau, brother or father. This can be an ideal gift for any occasion.  I have planned to gift it to my brother. He might like this gift. The interesting thing about the gift is that I am not going to burn a hole in my pocket for that. It is affordable but looks expensive. Moreover, it can be a smart gift.

I Should Be Happy With My New Diet!

>> Thursday, August 23, 2012

Nope. I am not trying to show off food that I had today. No No! These are just some of the images of previous food we prepared or have bought out that I kinda miss now..

These are the ordinary foods that we usually have in my household and when we go out..
But I can't buy any of them for now because I am in the quest of lowering my blood pressure.
Nothing fatty or heavenly if I do not hit that nornal bp yet. Not according to the doctor who is assigned to sign our medical requirements.. Urgh!
No hot chocolate or cookie or even coffee.. haayzt!
No yummy desserts but fruits only are allowed. Which is actually good,. But I am missing my chocolate heaven..
No deep fried food.. Not even seafood..
No cheesy dishes.. no pizza, no pasta!
 No fries..
I think I am dying, hahahaha.. Patience.. Faith.. and the reward later will be.. hahahaha..
Seriously, I have been pork free for a week now..
Not even my favorite Lechon Manok..

All we have now are the healthy stuff.. Fish, fish and more fish.. vegetables and fruits..  I Should Be Happy With My New Diet!

Longgan

I was able to try Longgans in Singapore and I loved them. They are actually my grandma's favorite that whenever we visit her in my uncle's other house, we would buy Longgans for her.

In case you are wondering how it tastes, well, it's like eating a not so sweet Lychee.. At least to me, that is.
Lili loved playing with the seeds after.. hahaha..
Seriously, when the seeds get cleaned, they can be used as counting tools, if not planted.

I am happy to find Longgans in the supermarket. And they aren't as pricey as the Dragon Fruit here..

Can't Get Enough of Ultimate Chocolate

>> Wednesday, August 22, 2012

Last week, before I had my medical, we indulged in this baby.. Red Ribbon's newest cake, the Ultimate Chocolate Cake by Red Ribbon.

As much as I want to buy another cake this week, I can't. Instead, I have to indulge in garlic and Chayote, until my blood pressure goes down to normal. If this job is not as important as I deem it to be, I wouldn't take sacrifices so seriously, especially this yummy cake that I have been craving for...

Till next time Ultimate Chocolate.. I have to be a good girl until bp goes down, har.. har.. har..

Cooking Up A Kiddie Event

What will you be doing this semestral break? I know it is just too early to think about the short vacation, and students are yet having their first quarter examinations or midterms for those in college. This October or November, I am hoping to push through with a kiddie or junior blogger event where one of my usual sponsors, a wholesale candy company is willing to sponsor. No mentioning of would be sponsors yet, but I am keeping my fingers crossed that all of them will join me and my group for the semestral break event. If that is going to push through, I am going to have cup cakes for free, some goodies bags filled with candies and toothbrushes, plus some insect repellent lotions, powders and colognes and many others. But I am excited for the candy company because it will be their first time to partner with me. I am also excited for the event itself because it will be my first time to do an event. In the previous endeavors, I only had online contests, and of course, some outreach projects tied up with my other organizations. In short, this will be the first time that it will be a physical event and it will solely be mine.
